8/14/2021 So Thursday we left Alpena and had a good trip to Harrisville. Arrived there in the early afternoon and relaxed in the sun at the dock.  The next morning we left and had to motor back to Tawas Bay Yacht Club because there just wasn’t wind.   Arrived back at 2:15 pm. We had traveled for 55 days and covered 736 miles!  That’s a cruise⛵️! Had a nice evening catching up with friends at the club. Now headed home!  It was a fun adventure.  Harrisville  TBYC  “Live life with no excuses, travel with no regret”

Presque Isle and Alpena

8/9/2021 Left Cheboygan and headed in to Presque Isle. Once again trying to beat rain. We did get in before the rain. Some boats here from TBYC!  Had fun and music with Steve, Linda and Rob. Tuesday we went and found the remains of the shipwreck Albany. ( https://thunderbay.noaa.gov/shipwrecks/albany.html It was cool to see. We also saw the sun and went to the beach!  We have had rain, wind, waves, fog and everything. Rob took us to dinner at Woodys on Grand Lake.  On Wednesday we headed out with an eye on the weather. A storm was predicted for evening. The waves had built and we decided to visit Alpena Municipal Marina for our first time. It is close to town with shops, a new brewery and a Mexican restaurant. We even ran into a great friend, Renee. We were protected well from the storm and slept peacefully last night.  Presque Isle Albany steamer ship remains Welcome to Alpena!

Rain, Rain go away

8/8/2021 We are in Cheboygan County Municipal Marina for one more night (or two).  The rain did clear this afternoon.  We had Mike and Ginny visit.  We did get in a short sail around the light house yesterday and an hour at the beach.  Dinner was very good at the Hack-Ma-Tack!  Today Mike and Ginny were the winners of the best of three in Cribbage.  We were also very lucky to see Sheryl and Chris for lunch today.   A couple more that were from our Petoskey visit. Sailing under the "Big Mac"

On Wednesday, August 4 we left Petoskey.  The water looked good in the bay but it was a bit wavy out in the lake.  It was a "when will we get there or the waves even subside a little "day! When we got to the Straits of Mackinac it got better for sailing.  We were able to wing on wing sail under the bridge!  It was fun!   We arrived in Straits State Harbor and were welcomed by friends on Still Busy Living.  We had a couple drinks and dinner at a brewery with interesting beer names.  The guys had to drink #14, Boats and Hoes.  LOL.  A good time.  Forgot to even get photos. Calm day on Thursday for our trip to Cheboygan.  We were here early in the day and went for a dinghy ride to Duncan Bay Boat Club and to town to the local brewery.  Staying here to welcome guests on board later today.  Happy Friday everyone! Getting closer Jeff was just praying for Diana to keep it between the piers! Cheybogan River Cheybogan is a working port.

Petoskey

It has been a great time here in Petoskey!  My sister has stayed here with us and helped give us time to separate!  LOL.  Girls did shopping, hikes, bike riding, Petoskey stone hunting and finally a great beach day.  Jeff had two days of fly fishing in Bear Creek.  Lots to do here!  We even had visitors for an evening with lots of fun and good conversation.  We have really had a nice time in Petoskey after the wavy ride here!
