Another beautiful sunset Apparently this is home to the “big hot woody”. The Mitten brewery in Northport Back out Well not as many pictures now. We left Charlevoix on Wednesday. We had really enjoyed that marina! Once out in the lake, we were moving along side the big yacht, The Scout. Such a beauty! It is the one shown in our last post. Soon waves were a moderate size making for a sporty ride😀. Safely arrived in Northport and actually had a couple hours sitting at the little beach. That was so nice! Northport did not have any slips open for the next night, so we left and proceeded to Elk Rapids. This is another beautiful marina. We did go past Mission Point light but it was far off. One surprising point I learned is that this bay has a depth of over 600 feet! Crazy!
8/8/2021 We are in Cheboygan County Municipal Marina for one more night (or two). The rain did clear this afternoon. We had Mike and Ginny visit. We did get in a short sail around the light house yesterday and an hour at the beach. Dinner was very good at the Hack-Ma-Tack! Today Mike and Ginny were the winners of the best of three in Cribbage. We were also very lucky to see Sheryl and Chris for lunch today. A couple more that were from our Petoskey visit. Around Cheboygan area this weekend Mike and Ginny Cheboygan crib light
8/9/2021 Left Cheboygan and headed in to Presque Isle. Once again trying to beat rain. We did get in before the rain. Some boats here from TBYC! Had fun and music with Steve, Linda and Rob. Tuesday we went and found the remains of the shipwreck Albany. ( https://thunderbay.noaa.gov/shipwrecks/albany.html It was cool to see. We also saw the sun and went to the beach! We have had rain, wind, waves, fog and everything. Rob took us to dinner at Woodys on Grand Lake. On Wednesday we headed out with an eye on the weather. A storm was predicted for evening. The waves had built and we decided to visit Alpena Municipal Marina for our first time. It is close to town with shops, a new brewery and a Mexican restaurant. We even ran into a great friend, Renee. We were protected well from the storm and slept peacefully last night. Presque Isle Albany steamer ship remains Welcome to Alpena!
So excited to follow your journey. Enjoy and be safe. Love you both!
