Beaver Island is a gem! Especially when the sun shines!








So the next day after arriving on the island it rained and rained and the wind blew!  It was a bit gloomy so we found the brewery and stayed inside.  Dinner with a friend.  

On Thursday, the clouds tried to break and we visited some local spots on our bikes.  Then it rained on us biking.  Oh well!  Finally it cleared and we went to The Restaurant at the lodge with some boaters we had met, Holly and John.  We enjoyed dinner and a very beautiful sunset over Donegal Bay!

Our best day on the island was Friday with our friend, Tim.  Tim drove us all over the island for an insiders look around and we had such a great day with him and the dog!  This place had beautiful water views, forest areas, huge ferns, beaches and dunes.  This is one place that would be great to return to.

Little Traverse to Grand Traverse Bay

Another beautiful sunset  Apparently this is home to the “big hot woody”. The Mitten brewery in Northport Back out   Well not as many pictures now.  We left Charlevoix on Wednesday.  We had really enjoyed that marina!  Once out in the lake, we were moving along side the big yacht, The Scout.  Such a beauty!  It is the one shown in our last post.  Soon waves were a moderate size making for a sporty ride😀.  Safely arrived in Northport and actually had a couple hours sitting at the little beach.  That was so nice! Northport did not have any slips open for the next night, so we left and proceeded to Elk Rapids.  This is another beautiful marina.  We did go past Mission Point light but it was far off.  One surprising point I learned is that this bay has a depth of over 600 feet!  Crazy!
